In an increasingly
borderless world of turbulent markets and evolving
technologies, we find an environment defined
by challenge, uncertainty and boundless opportunity.
The leaders of the 21st century will need to
understand the complex global issues facing modern
organizations and be proficient in the use of
sophisticated technology. They will need to maintain
an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving
and develop strong communication skills.
It is
the mission of the A.J. Palumbo School of Business
Administration to prepare our students to meet
these challenges. Through instructional excellence,
the School seeks to educate future leaders who
display a global perspective, a well-developed
sense of ethics, and effective citizenship within
the local and the world community. |

located within one of the premier corporate centers
of the U.S. Within walking distance of Duquesne's
campus are the international headquarters of
such firms as U.
S. Steel Corporation, PPG
Industries, Alcoa, Mellon
Financial Corporation and PNC
Corporation. Many executives from the Greater
Pittsburgh business community, who are specialists
in their fields, serve on the School's ten advisory
boards.
Once a heavy manufacturing center,
Pittsburgh now boasts a growing reputation for
entrepreneurship in biotechnology, tissue engineering,
telecommunications, software development, robotics
and other high growth industries. The proximity
of the University to this vital business community
gives Duquesne students a very real opportunity
to apply the skills and knowledge they acquire
in the classroom to exciting business situations
through internships and collaborative work projects
with Fortune 500 companies and with some of the
region's fastest growing firms.
