BSBA in Accounting Information Systems

What is Accounting Information Systems

The Accounting Information Systems (AIS) program prepares students for career opportunities in the fields of systems design, accounting systems management, accounting systems auditing and other systems-related areas of accounting.

The AIS major addresses the current scarcity of information technology graduates who have a fundamentally sound understanding of a firm's accounting system coupled with conceptual knowledge and hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications, as well as the lack of Accounting graduates who are familiar and comfortable using advanced technology to perform the accounting function.

Accounting Information Systems (AISs) combine the study and practice of accounting with the design, implementation, and monitoring of information systems. Such systems use modern information technology resources together with traditional accounting controls and methods to provide users the financial information necessary to manage their organizations.
