BSBA in Information Systems Management

Graduate Programs

The John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business at Duquesne University offers a few options for those who would like to continue on for an advanced degree in technology. Our graduate programs focus on the information technology aspects of management preparation for future leaders in the technology function of business.

Furthermore, our graduate programs seeks to educate current and future managers, who need to understand all aspects of information technology. You cannot separate business from technology in the business world.

The Donahue School looks at management as an integrated system and is very much against the "silo approach." In addition, the program integrates a team model, teaching participants (1) the skills and knowledge to be both effective leaders and followers both in teams and individually; and (2) how to successfully play both roles.

Master of Science in Information Systems Management

The newly redesigned Master of Science in Information Systems Management (MS-ISM) program prepares students for IS management and analytical positions involving the strategic role of information technology in modern business. Students graduating with an MS-ISM degree pursue careers as business/systems analysts, information systems managers, and IT auditors, among many others.

While some prior experience with computers is helpful, the program is designed for students coming from non-technical as well as technical backgrounds. Any student with a bachelor's degree is welcomed to apply. An MS-ISM degree also is an excellent complement to an undergraduate Accounting degree, including students who are planning to obtain CPA certification requiring 150 credit hours of undergraduate and/or graduate study.

The Techno-MBA
The Donahue School offers you a unique opportunity to earn the joint MBA/MS-Information Systems Management degree. This combination of business and information systems studies provides you with a competitive advantage as contemporary organizations aggressively seek business school graduates who have a depth of understanding of the link between key business functions and information technology.
