In studies by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, companies report a strong demand for technology workers and 45 percent plan to pay premiums for ISM skills that are difficult to find or retain.

Employment of computer and information systems managers is expected to grow 16 percent over the 2006-2016 decade, which is faster than the average for all occupations.

The Robert Half Technology 2008 Salary Guide notes that systems analysts will see the greatest starting salary increases of any single job classification in 2008, with base compensation expected to rise 5.6 percent over this job's 2007 salary range, which was $61,250-$86.500. The 2008 average salary range was $64,250–$91,750.

According to Duquesne University's Career Services Center, starting salaries for graduates of the ISM program typically range between the mid 30s to mid 40s. We're finding that our graduates typically make approximately $10K more than that average range. In addition, double majors typically make at least $8,000 — 10,000 more.
