Understanding
the Value Chain
"Few business schools
have boldly gone where no business school has gone before
by offering an integrative approach....that mirrors industry
orientation toward process rather than function." (Rosen
and Porterfield, MBAR Journal, Fall
2001)
By
being one of the few MBA programs
to offer a required course in "Understanding the Value Chain," the
Donahue School is distinguished
in its field. Provided with an
overview of business as a process
early in their course of study,
students will learn how business
disciplines work together as a
process to create value for customers,
employees and shareholders. "Understanding
the Value Chain" lays
the foundation for cross-disciplinary
integration in the core MBA curriculum—the
focus on business as a process
is reinforced again in "Strategy
Formulation and Implementation," a
capstone experience that includes
formal presentations to myriad panels
of business professionals. |
