Duquesne University's
A.J. Palumbo School of Business Administration
is delighted to announce the Monteverde Scholarship
Award. Multiple scholarships will be awarded
each academic year to qualified
students from the A.J. Palumbo School of Business
Administration. Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with a QPA of 3.50 or higher are eligible to apply.
A Scholarship Selection
Committee comprised of Business School faculty
and/or administrators and alumni will review
the applications.
The annual awards are effective
for the Fall semester of the next academic year.
Factors considered in the selection process include:
academic achievement with a 3.50 or higher QPA;
University and community service; employment
history; financial need and a personal statement
related to your current situation and career
goals. Applicants who do not demonstrate financial
need will be considered on the basis of merit.
Preference will be given to students who have
graduated from high schools within a 150 mile
radius of Duquesne University.
The following are instructions
for application:
Applicants are expected
to complete the official Monteverde Scholarship
application form, including a one-page word-processed
essay. Applications are available in the Advisement
Office of the A.J. Palumbo School of Business
Administration in 705 Rockwell Hall and online
(see below).
Completed applications
must be submitted to the Advisement Office
by 12:00 PM on Monday,
March 16, 2009. We
strongly recommend that you submit your application
as soon as possible. Your early submission
allows sufficient time to resolve any administrative
problems or questions.
The overall quality and completeness of the information you submit is very important. The quality of information submitted by the applicants will determine the list of finalists.
Selected finalists may be asked to appear before the Scholarship Selection Committee for a personal interview. If conducted, the personal interview will serve as the final step in the selection process.
