Program Outcomes

The John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business MBA program is designed to help your efforts to become business leaders. Therefore, we are committed to assuring, to the maximum extent possible, that you graduate from the program with the following competencies:

  • The understanding of organizations as holistic systems that integrate diverse disciplines and talents to deliver value with integrity through the ability to:
    • tie theory to practice, maximizing performance from human, financial, physical and information capital
    • communicate across organizational levels, functional disciplines and cultures
    • identify, analyze and evaluate strategic issues and processes in dynamic organizations and markets
    • motivate people to achieve goals
  • Relevant knowledge of the social, political, technological and cultural forces that influence organizational and marketplace environments by developing:
    • judgment for assessing short and long-range local and global impacts on organizational decisions and new technologies
    • managerial skills for fostering innovation and leading change
  • The ability to apply appropriate quantitative decision tools
  • A depth of expertise in a business discipline chosen by the student.

Student Portfolio

In order for the Donahue School to assess how well we have delivered on the program outcomes to our students, we ask them to provide a portfolio of their work during the last term in the program as part of the process for applying for graduation.
