for the International Business Concentration |
Students may choose to use their 15 credits of elective courses to increase their depth of knowledge in one of the following areas. A minimum of 9 credits of coursework in any one area is required for a concentration, as noted in the Policy and Course Description Bulletin.

600 Global Marketing Management |
Description: |
This course, fully incorporating the global point of view in international marketing, provides a conceptual framework for a managerial approach to the field. Emphasis is placed on the view that international marketing effectiveness requires a strategic understanding. The integration of all relevant trends, facts and markets into an overall framework that allows managers to consider many different markets simultaneously rather than on a country-by-country basis is presented. Numerous examples of international marketing situations faced by actual U.S. and foreign organizations are examined. Issues are tackled from the manager’s point of view and concepts are included that help students address specific international marketing questions.

627 International Management Practices: Europe |
Description: |
A study of the political and other social influences upon managerial decision making. The student is introduced to the variations in practice and operations within organizations and between units in a national and international milieu, which are discussed after a delineation of the fundamental contributions of ideology, sovereignty and technology. The focus of this course is on the European Community.

Description: |
Students who plan to take advantage of study abroad opportunities for a summer, semester, or academic year will register for the appropriate number of credits. Any students who register for Study Abroad must receive advance approval from the Graduate School of Business for the number of credits that may be applied to their degree requirements.

Students completing an MBA or Techno-MBA, must complete 16 credits in the MBA Core before taking Strategy Formulation and Implementation and elective courses. For the MS-ISM, students mush complete GRBUS 541, 544, 545 prior to taking this course. |
674 Executive Insights Into Global Competitiveness |
Description: |
This course draws on the collective experience and wisdom of expert guest lecturers and distinguished business leaders to provide students with a top-level perspective of important contemporary business issues. These include the impact of terrorism, religion, poverty and other factors that create challenges and opportunities in today’s global business environment.
